The 11th Annual Diversity Networking Reception at the National Association of Home Builders was held this past spring. The annual event celebrated diversity at GW Law and was hosted by the law school's Lambda Law student group in partnership with the GW Law Career Center.

This year, the total amount of sponsorship funds raised was approximately $34,000, which made this a record-setting year. Funds raised were used by Lambda Law to send students to the LGBT Bar Association's annual Lavender Law conference, which took place in San Francisco, California, earlier this month. Since its inception in 1988, Lavender Law invites members of the LGBT community and allied legal professionals to look back at the shared history of achievement and to look forward to the advancements being made at the cutting edge of the legal profession.

More than 200 LGBT, diverse, and allied students from nine law schools registered for the reception.

Approximately 50 legal employers representing law firms, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations registered to attend.
