Challenges in Corporate Governance: Life-Cycle of a Board Member

Mon, 5 November, 2018 5:00pm

Join the Business and Finance Law Program and the Institute for Corporate Responsibility for a panel discussion on the life-cycle of a board member. The panel will focus on the role of Corporate Directors through the life cycle of a director. The process starts with a Board deciding to refresh the Board by recruiting a new director. Once the new director is recruited to join a board, the director goes through “onboarding,” joining one or more committees, participating in Board and committee meetings and phone calls to carry out their responsibilities to oversee management, the company’s strategy, succession plans and key decisions. Ultimately, the lifecycle ends with the director stepping down from the board, which can occur for a variety of reasons.
