Dean Morant Named 2018 Attorney of the Year

Dean Blake D. Morant (center) was honored by the National Capital Area Council, Boy Scouts of America in June.

The National Capital Area Council, Boy Scouts of America awarded 2018 Attorney of the Year honors to Blake D. Morant, Dean and Robert Kramer Research Professor of Law, along with two other honorees, at their 12th annual Good Scout Award Luncheon. This event honored outstanding leaders in the law profession who exemplify the ideals of the Scout Oath and Law in his or her daily life.

According to a statement from the organization, Dean Morant was selected by community members and his peers for his outstanding character, and his contributions to both his profession and Scouting. "Many thanks to the National Capital Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, for honoring me last month as 2018 Attorney of the Year," Dean Morant said. "Scouting opened many doors for me and continues to provide outstanding opportunities for diverse youth in the region. I am extraordinarily grateful."

Last year, Dean Morant received the Outstanding Eagle Scout Award: Scouting's national recognition of extraordinary professional achievement at the city, state, or regional level.
