Emerging Trends in Compliance: Cybersecurity Requirements Expose Government Contractors to Liability

Thu, 14 November, 2019 12:00pm

Join the Government Procurement Law Program as they host Angeline Chen and Dawn Stern, JD '05, of DLA Piper for a lunchtime discussion about the opportunities, challenges, and risks faced by companies arising from increasingly complex cybersecurity requirements and the corresponding exposure to liabilities. In particular, recent developments under certain laws, such as the False Claims Act, highlight the expansion of these particularly challenging risks for government contractors and underscores the importance of the role of lawyers in the cybersecurity domain. The conversation will address policy implications, emerging trends, and compliance fundamentals that promote sustained awareness, transparency, accountability, collaboration, and practical business practices. Jessica Tillipman, Assistant Dean for Field Placement, will moderate.
