GW Alums appointed to lead State Bar Associations

Two alums serving as president of state bar associations

We are pleased to share that two GW alums have recently been selected to lead their respective state bar associations.


Sherry Levin Wallach 

Ms. Wallach was recently sworn in as the 125th president of the New York State Bar Association. She served as NYSBA secretary for four terms. She was vice president from the Ninth Judicial District to the Executive Committee and member-at-large, Membership Committee chair, subcommittee chair for the Task Force on Parole Reform, co-chair of the President’s Committee on Access to Justice and the Task Force on Incarceration Release Planning and Programs. Ms. Wallach serves on the Committee on Professional Discipline, the Committee on Mandated Representation, and the Committee on Immigration Representation. She is a member of the LGBTQ Law Section, the Women in Law Section, the Trial Lawyers Section, and the Criminal Justice Section.

LieAnn Van-Tull

Ms. Van-Tull was sworn in as President-Elect of the Washington Bar Association, Inc. (WBA) on June 1, 2022, during its Annual Meeting and Conference at American University’s Washington College of Law. She is an associate with the Food and Drug Packaging and Tobacco and E-Vapor practice groups at international regulatory law firm Keller and Heckman LLP.
