Nearly 250 alumni from across the country returned to GW on June 2nd and 3rd to celebrate GW Law Reunion Weekend. The weekend kicked off with the GW Law Tour for Stockton Guard Alumni and the Stockton Guard Brunch with Dean Dayna Bowen Matthew.
"I was overjoyed to celebrate GW Law Reunion Weekend with our amazing alumni spanning more than half a century. My heartiest congratulations go to Mark Chichester—the winner of the 2023 Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award. In addition to Mark's many impressive professional achievements, he serves as Vice Chair of the GW Board of Trustees and has served our law school in a variety of important ways through the years.
I also congratulate the many other deserving winners of this year's alumni awards and class cups. My special thanks go to the Class of 1983 for showing up in such strong numbers and to the Class of 2023 for donating so generously to the Class Gift Campaign--outperforming all undergraduate class gifts at GW.
Finally, I am grateful to the committee members who planned a magnificent weekend of events and to the many reunion celebrants who returned to campus from near and far to reconnect and reminisce. Congratulations to you all!"

"I traveled in June nearly 5,000 miles from Honolulu, Hawaii to Washington, DC for my 45th-year reunion. During Reunion Weekend I enjoyed reconnecting with my GW Law '78 classmates and chatting with other alumni. It was a wonderful opportunity to talk with Dean Dayna Bowen Matthew. Kudos to the Development & Alumni Relations Office team which planned the events including the tours, the Stockton Guard brunch, the family-friendly BBQ lunch, and the All-Class reception and dinner. At the dinner, my '78 classmates and I proudly received The Dean's Cup, which is awarded to the class with the highest overall participation rate in the reunion class gift campaign. Just as I've been doing every 5 years, I plan to attend the next reunion."
