WASHINGTON, D.C. — GW Law’s Government Procurement program was recently awarded a substantial gift from the Defense Industry Initiative (DII). The gift known as the “DII Fellowship” will support a “DII Fellow” who will specialize in government procurement ethics and compliance issues at GW Law.

For several decades, the Defense Industry Initiative (DII) has played a leading role in promoting and advancing ethics and compliance throughout the defense industry.
As the world’s preeminent government contracts law program, with a longstanding focus on defense acquisition, GW Law has been a leader in the study and teaching of integrity and compliance in this industry.

“We are thrilled about this new partnership. GW Law and DII have a shared commitment to advancing ethics and compliance knowledge and best practices in the defense industry and this fellowship will strengthen these efforts. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a recent GW Law grad to conduct innovative research in government procurement integrity and compliance issues, gain practical experience, and help support DII's mission,” said Jessica Tillipman, Associate Dean for Government Procurement Law Studies.

“DII has a long tradition of partnering with third-party stakeholders to further its reach in sharing and promoting best practices in ethics and compliance. This extraordinary partnership with GW Law allows us to continue expanding our footprint by partnering with a top-flight academic institution to further the goals of the organization and its members,” said Teddie Arnold, the DII Coordinator and Partner at Seyfarth Shaw LLP.

In addition to conducting research, the DII Fellow will help deepen the partnership between GW Law and DII by helping to update DII’s compliance toolkits, assisting with organizing webinars and other events, producing white papers and other written materials, and creating new opportunities for students to engage with DII and its members.
