Jason Belk joined the Dean of Students Office in 2019, bringing over a decade of law school administrative experience. Prior to coming to GW Law, he served as the inaugural Dean of Students at New York University School of Law where he developed programming related to wellness, academic support, and diversity and inclusion. Before his time in NYU Law, Dean Belk served as the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs for Duke University School of Law.

Before joining academia, Dean Belk was a litigator, most recently at Womble Carlyle, Raleigh, NC, and before that at Paul Hastings, Washington, DC, and Farella Braun + Martel, San Francisco, CA. A North Carolina native, he earned a BA from Duke University and a JD in 2004 from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, Boalt Hall. He also holds a Master's in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
