Mr. Loigman is a former Assistant District Attorney with the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, where he focused on animal cruelty crimes. Over the course of his tenure at the Bronx DA, he handled nearly all of the animal cruelty investigations and prosecutions, and served as the point of contact for all Assistant District Attorneys to determine appropriate plea offers and trial strategy on all animal cruelty cases. Mr. Loigman successfully tried several of these cases to verdict and obtained convictions through jury verdicts and guilty pleas on several high-profile animal cruelty cases. While serving as an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Loigman received an Award of Excellence from the ASPCA for his commitment to the prosecution of animal cruelty offenses and spoke at multiple public engagements regarding the most effective methods of prosecuting these offenses. He also served as an inaugural member of the District Attorneys Association of New York Animal Crimes Subcommittee, where he was responsible for discussing with other members issues related to animal cruelty prosecution, as well as reviewing and commenting on pending legislation related to animal crimes. After leaving the Bronx DA, Mr. Loigman did work as a Contract Attorney for the Animal Legal Defense Fund, where he assisted in drafting prosecution resources and advising on the likelihood of success in prosecuting specific animal cruelty cases. He is currently a Trial Attorney with the United States Department of Justice.
