Academic Resources
Academics
The George Washington Law School's curriculum and diverse academic opportunities are designed to give students the knowledge and skills they need to become effective advocates in any setting—large or small firm, public interest organization, government agency, academia, or the judiciary. Students are likewise prepared to serve in any capacity—counselor, litigator, mediator, negotiator, legislator, or lobbyist.
In addition to learning the fundamentals of law, our students have the opportunity to craft their own academic program by choosing among 275 elective course offerings—one of the most comprehensive catalogs of any law school in the nation. They gain hands-on legal experience through in-class instruction and a variety of experiential learning opportunities, including clinics, skills competitions, and field placement positions—all of which are enhanced by the Law School's DC location.
