Before joining GW Law, Elizabeth Ewert was the first Director of Academic Enhancement Programs in the Office of the Dean of Students at Georgetown Law. While at Georgetown, she worked on student issues related to academic success, wellness, and mental health; oversaw the student moot court and mock trial programs; and served on senior administrative committees focusing on academic policy and curricular development. Dean Ewert also taught an upper-level seminar, Writing for Law Practice, as well as a co-requisite Externship Seminar, and developed and taught co-curricular programming on academic support, professional competencies, professional identity, and career planning. Dean Ewert started at GW Law as the Associate Dean of Students, a role she held for over six years before taking her current position. She has served as an advisor to the Cardozo Inn of Court for over 8 years.

Prior to academia, Dean Ewert was a partner at Drinker Biddle & Reath (now Faegre Drinker), where she was a litigator representing businesses primarily in products liability and False Claims Act disputes. During 2009-10 while still in practice, Dean Ewert taught Legal Research and Writing and Introduction to Advocacy at GW Law as an adjunct professor.
