Sarah Needham is the inaugural Visiting Associate Professor of Law and Defense Industry Initiative (DII) Fellow. She is joining GW Law after serving eight years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps. Her diverse assignments as a JAG included roles as a prosecutor, civil litigator, and general counsel to military commanders at all levels. Most recently, she served as the Procurement Fraud Team Lead and Chief Acquisition Law Policy Counsel, where she advised on complex legal and compliance issues at the intersection of national security and federal acquisition.
Prior to law school, Professor Needham spent over two years in the country Georgia as a Peace Corps volunteer.
As DII Fellow, Professor Needham leads research on government procurement integrity and compliance, develops ethics and compliance programming, and supports DII’s mission of promoting ethical conduct and transparency in the defense industry.
