Mr. Saltzman is a seasoned C-Suite executive, legal and operating officer with experience in all aspects of financial services and trade association management, and is widely recognized as a crisis manager and corporate governance leader, having been recently featured in counselhouse.org podcast and Vanguard Magazine. He is currently Chief Legal Officer of EagleBank, a $12 billion USD asset publicly traded community commercial bank, where he joined in January of 2020. Mr. Saltzman is responsible for all legal activities of the Bank, including the management of several publicly disclosed high-profile government investigations and litigations he was recruited to resolve. Before EagleBank, Mr. Saltzman was a partner in the Banking and Financial Institutions Advisory Practice at White & Case since 2018. He was Vice Chairman at Deutsche Bank from 2015 to 2018, where he held non-legal positions sequentially managing capital stress testing, regulatory remediation, and then transaction banking and payments in the Americas region. From 2010 to 2015, Mr. Saltzman served as General Counsel of The Clearing House Payments Company, and President of its then affiliated trade association (now Bank Policy Institute), where he lead the industry response to Dodd-Frank and was credited by American Banker with transforming the 150 year old organization and bringing a new brand of fact based data- driven leadership to the trade association space. From 2008 to 2010, Mr. Saltzman served as General Counsel of one of the largest mortgage hedge funds, Ellington Management Group, helping them through the sub-prime mortgage crisis. Prior to that Mr. Saltzman was Chief Operating Officer of Espeed (now owned by NASDAQ), Cantor Fitzgerald’s public electronic bond trading company, having been recruited to stabilize the company following the September 11th attacks. From 1994 to 2004, Mr. Saltzman led the Bond Market Association (now SIFMA), as its General Counsel, facilitating a product and global expansion of the leading fixed income trade group. Mr. Saltzman previously served in private practice as a structured finance transactional associate at Skadden, Arps. He holds a BA Phi Beta Kappa from Clark University, and a JD from the Boston University School of Law and is a member of the New York State Bar.
