Conversation with "Addicted Lawyer" Author, Brian Cuban
Like anyone else, attorneys and law students can be genetically pre-disposed to alcoholism, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety and other mental health issues. The stress of practicing law can be an environmental trigger and the associate fear of judgment can inhibit disclosure until there are both physical and employment consequences.
Join the Dean of Students Office as they host Brian Cuban, author of The Addicted Lawyer: Tales of the Bar, Booze, Blow, and Redemption. Mr. Cuban will discuss his experiences with mental health issues, both as a law student at the University of Pittsburgh and practicing attorney in Dallas, TX for over twenty years. He will also detail his recovery, redefining his career as well as restoring family and passion for life.
Please RSVP by October 6 to deanofstudentslaw [dot] gwu [dot] edu.
This event earns students a wellness credit for Foundations of Practice.
