Business and Finance-related Curriculum

GW Law’s comprehensive and rigorous curriculum prepares students for practicing in all areas of law and policy, and is uniquely poised through its location, faculty, and connections to offer students insight into the world of economics and finance. The following courses selected from a recent curriculum closely reflect the mission and scope of C-LEAF. Students should work closely with the Office of Student Affairs and members of the faculty to build a schedule appropriate to their needs and interests. All J.D. students are required to take Contracts I and II. Other business and finance-related courses, such as Corporations and Secured Transactions, are often recommended to J.D. candidates as they introduce students to material that is considered by most lawyers (including bar examiners) to be part of the lawyer's basic toolkit. The following list represents the C-LEAF faculty's views as to additional courses to be considered by those wishing to advance within the fields of business and finance.
