Olivia Choe is a partner in the Washington, DC office of Milbank and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Arbitration Group. Ms. Choe’s practice focuses on civil and criminal enforcement actions and complex, high-stakes litigation, drawing on her nearly 15 years of experience as a government trial attorney, supervisor, and senior enforcement official. She has successfully tried both civil and criminal cases.
Before joining Milbank, she served as the Chief Litigation Counsel for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, overseeing the Division of Enforcement’s nationwide litigation and trial program. She also provided strategic advice and guidance to Commission leadership and hundreds of enforcement staff on complex issues in a broad array of investigations and enforcement actions. At the SEC, she was a two-time recipient of the SEC’s Arthur F. Mathews Award for creativity in applying the federal securities laws for the benefit of investors. Ms. Choe was previously an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Department of Justice in the Southern District of Florida, where she prosecuted and tried numerous white-collar, violent crime, and child exploitation and human trafficking cases, and argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Ms. Choe began her career as a law firm associate in Boston, following clerkships with the Honorable John M. Walker, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Honorable Rya W. Zobel of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
