Join the Business and Finance Law Program and the Black Law Students Association as they host Tia Breakley, Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer of the Infrastructure Group, and Managing Director of Blackstone, for a discussion on private equity practice and leading as a lawyer. 

About Ms. Breakley

Tia Breakley is a Managing Director of Blackstone and the Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer of the Infrastructure Group. Previously, Ms. Breakley served as Deputy General Counsel of the Hedge Fund Solutions Group where she was actively involved in the oversight and coordination of legal and regulatory matters relating to BAAM’s multi-manager and direct trading platforms as well as structuring of the group’s customized multi-manager products. Before joining Blackstone in 2007, Ms. Breakley worked as counsel in the Private Investment Funds Group at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. Prior to that, Ms. Breakley was an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, where she worked on various matters including, private investment fund formations, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Breakley received a BA from the University of Virginia and a JD from Columbia Law School. Ms. Breakley serves on the Board of Trustees of the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater. In February 2019, she was included in Black Enterprise’s list of the “Most Powerful Women in Corporate America.”
