Rachelle Holmes Perkins is a Visiting Associate Professor of Law at the George Washington University Law School. Her teaching and scholarship focus on tax law, professional responsibility, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in legal education and practice. Her work has appeared in leading journals, including the Columbia Journal of Tax Law, BYU Law Review, Temple Law Review, and Kansas Law Review, among others. She is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
Professor Perkins holds a tenured appointment as Associate Professor of Law at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School, where she served for nearly eight years as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. In that role, she led initiatives in academic policy, curriculum development, and faculty affairs. She was also appointed to George Mason University’s Artificial Intelligence Task Force, where she co-led the development of university-wide AI policy guidelines.
Professor Perkins earned her BS in Mathematical Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her JD from Columbia Law School, where she graduated with highest honors as a James Kent Scholar. She began her legal career as a tax associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York and King & Spalding LLP in Washington, D.C., and later returned to Columbia Law School as a Transactional Studies Research Fellow.
