No matter who wins, Super Bowl LVII will make history as the first Super Bowl to have two starting Black quarterbacks. Although there's been a surge of Black quarterbacks in recent years, the National Football League (NFL) has acknowledged there's still a long way to go with hiring Black and other minorities as Head Coaches and in positions of power.

GW Law's Lerner Family Associate Dean for Public Interest and Public Service Law Alan B. Morrison moderated a panel to discuss the claim of Brian Flores and if racial bias prevents the hiring of Black candidates as NFL Head Coaches. The panel was joined by Cyrus Mehri, civil rights attorney; Jerry Brewer and Emily Giambalvo, Washington Post sports writers. Watch the full discussion below.
