Tremayne Bunaugh is General Counsel to the Secretary of the U.S. Senate, the chamber’s chief administrative, legislative, and financial officer. He brings more than 18 years of federal service to this role, with prior experience as an Attorney-Adviser at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Director of the Air Force Ethics Office, and Associate General Counsel at AmeriCorps. He also served as Senior Counsel and Director of Financial Disclosure for the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Ethics.

Mr. Bunaugh has taught courses in business law, business ethics, and legal issues in human resources management as an adjunct professor at Trinity Washington University. At GW Law, he teaches in the field placement program, focusing on professional identity formation, effective communication, and reflective legal practice. He earned his BS in Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University and his JD from The George Washington University Law School. He is a member of the Maryland Bar and admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
