GW Law welcomed over 250 alumni to campus from classes ending in ones and sixes for their 2026 Reunion Weekend on June 5 and 6.
The attendees included alumni from 21 states and territories, including Alaska and Hawai’i, and international alumni who flew to Washington, D.C., from as far away as France and Brazil.
"After the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled our five-year reunion, I was excited to catch up with 2016 classmates at this year’s GW Law Reunion,” said Thaddeus Ewald, JD '16. “The weekend offered so much more than that, though, with rewarding opportunities to re-engage with the greater GW Law community. Some of my favorite memories will be making new friends from my class and others, serving on the reunion committee, and learning from faculty and staff about how GW Law is adapting to the current legal and educational landscape. I left the weekend looking forward not just to my next reunion, but to the many other events and chances to connect with the GW Law network in the years to come!”
During reunion, alumni who were 40+ years post graduation had the honor of being inducted into GW Law’s Stockton Guard Society. At a special breakfast, alumni from the classes of 1966, 1971, 1976, 1981, and 1986 joined GW Law Dean Dayna Bowen Matthew to reconnect with classmates and reflect on their time at GW Law and their careers.
"I had the privilege of serving on my GW Law reunion committee this year and attended our class's 40th reunion. Amazing how time flies. I also had the distinct honor of assisting Dean Matthew in officiating the Stockton Guard Breakfast as my class was inducted,” said Francisco Montero, JD '86. “The reunion was such fun and it was fantastic to see so many longtime friends and classmates. The activities were entertaining, educational, and inspiring and allowed for reconnecting and networking. Serving on my class reunion committee was a great experience for me personally to help bring out my class for such a memorable event like our 40th, and put me in direct contact with so many old friends, as well as allowing me to make new ones. I highly recommend it."
The weekend concluded with a celebration of more than 200 alumni and guests at the All-Class Reunion Dinner, hosted at the historic National Press Club in downtown Washington, D.C. At the end of the evening this year recipients of GW Law’s Reunion Cups & Bowls were honored including the class of 1966 who raised the most money and the class of 1986 who had the highest attendance.
