For the first time in GW Law history, both The George Washington Law Review and the Federal Communications Law Journal (FCLJ) will be led by African American students.

Jeremy Allen-Arney, 2L, will serve as the Editor-in-Chief of The George Washington Law Review for Volume 88. He is the first African American to hold the position. At GW Law, he serves as the Academic Chair of the Black Law Students Association, the Vice President of Stipends of the Equal Justice Foundation, and has volunteered with the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project. Mr. Allen-Arney is also recognized as a George Washington Scholar.

"It's an honor that my peers entrusted me with the responsibility of leading this publication into its 88th year. I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working with my brilliant classmates to produce a volume that makes us proud for years to come," he said.

Tawanna Lee, 2L, will serve as Editor-in-Chief of the Federal Communications Law Journal for Volume 72. "It is an honor and privilege to be selected by my peers to serve as the incoming Editor-in-Chief. Journals like the FCLJ serve a vital role in providing a platform for attorneys, professors, students, and researchers to discuss and debate important contemporary issues. I look forward to reflecting the breadth and depth of communications law and policy issues by drawing on diverse perspectives to enrich the journal's content, contributors, and online presence,” she said.

At GW Law, Ms. Lee is a Co-President of the Gulf Recovery Network and Employment Chair of the Black Law Students Association. She has also been involved with the Cyberlaw Students Association and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. Ms. Lee’s hard work juggling family obligations with her engagement in the law school community has been appreciated by her peers. “As a woman of color, mother, and wife, Tawanna is a role model for so many of us,” said Ali Kingston, 3L. “She leads with such grace, humility, and understanding. The entire incoming FCLJ board is comprised of diverse and qualified candidates that represent our legal community."
