GW Law's Associate Dean for National Security, Cybersecurity, and Foreign Relations Law Lisa M. Schenck, and her husband, James have generously funded an internal Alternative Dispute Resolution competition for first-year law students, the Schenck National Security Crisis Negotiations Competition. This annual competition will allow GW Law students to compete in teams of two to negotiate issues presented by a national security law crisis. This competition allows students to apply skills that will be useful not only to national security professionals but also to attorneys practicing in a wide variety of legal fields. The Schenck's funded this competition to ensure sustainability and reflect the importance of the GW Law National Security, Cybersecurity, and Foreign Relations Law Program and to highlight the program to first-year students as they continue their JD studies.

The inaugural Schenck National Security Crisis Negotiations Competition will be held February 10-11. All participants will compete on Saturday, February 10, however, those who advance to the second round will compete on Sunday, February 11. More information will be provided to 1Ls at the beginning of this semester via email. Interested students are asked to register by Friday, January 19. You must be signed into your @law.gwu.edu email to register.
