Build a Culture in which a Diverse Community Thrives

GW Law values diversity. As expressed in GW’s Statement on Diversity and Inclusion, "A population of students, faculty, and staff with differing perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences leads to a richer mix of ideas, energizing and enlightening debate, and a vibrant academic and work environment. As an institution, we are committed to non-discrimination, equal opportunity, and fostering an inclusive and respectful environment that enables everyone to flourish.”

Strategic Priorities:

  1. Cultivate equity, inclusion, and belonging among and within staff, students, and faculty
  2. Attract faculty and staff applicants with a broad array of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences
  3. Create an inclusive academic experience for all students by employing inclusive teaching practices, revising course curricula, as appropriate, and attracting faculty who are committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment
  4. Attract student applicants with a broad array of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, including applicants  who are first-generation, low-income, or from under-served communities
  5. Value and promote a broad definition of diversity
