Our mission statement begins, “The George Washington University Law School is a global law school that exists to make an impact on the law through the leadership of our diverse faculty.” This book is evidence of the truth of that statement.
We are thrilled to present this book that recognizes and celebrates the inspiring and innovative teaching done by the GW Law faculty. It assembles the GW Law faculty’s diverse and impressive areas of expertise, well-deserved chairs and honorifics, and the breadth and depth of courses taught during the 2023-24 academic year. But the book does even more. It also captures the extraordinary impact of our faculty through the words of our students. You will see this in the breathtaking range of subjects taught.
Last year, GW Law faculty taught more than 1,000 courses and thousands of students. They ran 19 clinics and worked with 262 students to represent 312 individuals and businesses.
We are GW Law because we have a faculty who are teachers, scholars, and influencers, actively engaged in law practice and in working to improve society through the law. Faculty members who think big thoughts and take bold actions.
The impact, inspiration, and influence of this faculty is unique within the legal academy.
