A Conversation on International Cyberspace Strategy

Howard A. Schmidt, Former Cybersecurity Coordinator of the Obama Administration, highlighted the development of an international cyberspace strategy, how to make it work, and whether it should be lead by the private sector or government.

Howard A. Schmidt has had a long distinguished career in defense, law enforcement, and corporate security spanning more than 40 years. He served as Special Assistant to the President and the Cybersecurity Coordinator for the federal government, where he was responsible for coordinating interagency cybersecurity policy development and implementation and for coordinating engagement with federal, state, local, international, and private sector cybersecurity partners. Previously, he operated as the Chief Security Officer for Microsoft Corporation.
