David J. Sharpe is a Professor Emeritus of Law. He taught at George Washington University from 1960 to 1997. Mr. Sharpe held two collateral University titles: Professor of Medical and Public Affairs and Harold Paul Green Research Professor of Law.

While at GW, Mr. Sharpe served as chair of the Faculty Organization Review Committee and was a member of the School of Medicine Instructional Review Board and Dispute Settlement in Schools of Engineering and Medicine. His principal interests include admiralty, federal civil procedure, law and medicine, and remedies. Mr. Sharpe has bar memberships at the Supreme Court of the United States in addition to other state and federal courts.

Mr. Sharpe has experience at the U.S. Naval Reserve, University of North Carolina Institute of Government, U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, Boston University School of Law, The George Washington University National Law Center, and Tulane University School of Law. He is involved with the Maritime Law Association of the United States, Chesapeake Research Review, fellowships and sponsored research, as well as domestic and international arbitrations.
