"I am deeply honored, thankful, and humbled to be inducted into the prestigious Washington Bar Association Hall of Fame," said Associate Dean for Trial Advocacy; Professorial Lecturer in Law; Co-Director of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Program Alfreda Robinson. "This mark of distinction is extraordinarily special to me because it is presented by my peers and fellow members of the 98-year-old association. The association's members have included the late US Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, Jr.; Charles Hamilton Houston, revered Civil Rights Architect and WBA Co-Founder; and Professor J. Clay Smith, author of Emancipation: The Making of the Black Lawyer 1844-1944, and graduate of both Howard University Law School and George Washington University Law School. Today, the WBA membership includes The Honorable Chief Judge Anna Blackburne-Rigsby, DC Court of Appeals, GW Trustee Board Chair Grace E. Speights, and super medical malpractice lawyer Jack H. Olender, GW Law Alumnus and major endower to the GW Law Litigation Program. I attribute this honor in great measure to the gentle, but firm mentoring by these and other WBA members. This honor will be a constant reminder to boldly advance the causes of civil rights and democracy."

Founded in 1925, the Washington Bar Association, Inc. (WBA) is the oldest and largest voluntary bar association comprised primarily of Black attorneys and judges in metropolitan Washington, DC. Since its founding nearly 100 years ago, the WBA has been dedicated to the pursuit of making America’s promise of equal justice under law a reality for all in the District of Columbia and beyond. Today, the WBA accomplishes its mission through legal and legislative advocacy, judicial evaluation, community outreach and education, and a variety of pipeline programs for local youth. The WBA also hosts networking events, speaker series, and other professional development and legal education programs.
