A paper by Robert L. Glicksman, J.B. and Maurice C. Shapiro Professor of Environmental Law, LeRoy Paddock, Associate Dean for Environmental Studies, and alumna Jecoliah Williams, JD ’19, was included as an honorable mention in the 2020 Environmental Law and Policy Annual Review (ELPAR). The annual review selects articles based on the strength of the law and policy proposals presented in environmental scholarship between August 1, 2018, and July 31, 2019.

The article, "The Impact of Citizen Environmental Science in the United States," was published by the Environmental Law Reporter. Glicksman, Paddock, Williams, and other coauthors review the rapid changes happening in the field of citizen science and examine what makes citizen science initiatives impactful, as well as the barriers to greater impact. They report on 10 case studies and evaluate the findings to understand the state of citizen science and recommendations on what can be done to increase its influence on environmental decision-making.

The Environmental Law and Policy Annual Review (ELPAR) is published in collaboration with the Vanderbilt University Law School (VULS) and the Environmental Law Institute (ELI) in Washington, DC.
