GW Law Engages with Alumni Community

Students at reception

From San Francisco to New York City, Dean Matthew and the Alumni Relations and Admissions teams have traveled across the country meeting with newly admitted students and connecting with alumni.

Our admitted students and alumni receptions offer incoming students the opportunity to meet with Dean Matthew, law school faculty members, and alumni to hear first hand GW Law experiences. Associate Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid, Sophia Sim, explained that “during the pandemic, when students weren't able to visit in-person, many alumni stepped forward to help. We started a new program of regional alumni contacts. The relatively new Alumni Outreach Committee, headed by Jake Berdine, Adam Bofill, and Matt Rosenberg, expanded the network and reached out to over half of the admitted students.”

After two years, it's hard to describe the energy and exuberance. The alumni were happy to be in person, happy to share their experiences with students, happy or reconnect with their fellow alumni.  Whether it was Miami, San Francisco, or New York, alumni who graduated in the 60's or last year, the standing room only at these receptions is an example of what a true community GW is.

This spring the alumni relations team logged almost 15,000 miles by planes, trains, and automobiles. "It was incredible to re-engage with our amazing alumni at dozens of events and meetings and we are excited to continue to travel," said Associate Director of Alumni Relations, Bryant Ingram. This semester they’ve made it to Austin, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Miami, Boston, New York City, and back to DC! Check out some photos from the road.
