In the wake of the shootings of two black men by police in Louisiana and Minnesota and five police officers in Dallas, Professor Christopher A. Bracey joined BBC World News America's Laura Trevelyan to discuss race relations in America. "This was a terrible week... lots of violence, lots of escalation," Professor Bracey said to start the interview. "When you think about the long view of American race relations, this week is going to be remembered." The pair covered the history of race relations, pressure on law enforcement officers, potential contradictions between supporting police and removing bias from the criminal justice system, and Professor Bracey's support for a return to community policing.
