In late June 2022, GW Law hosted a webinar discussing two Master of Studies in Law degree programs (MSL) available fully online. The Master of Studies in Law (MSL) is intended for professionals who are not interested in earning a law degree or practicing law, but who work in jobs where knowledge of the law is important.

The webinar featured Associate Dean Lisa Schenck, who directs the National Security, Cybersecurity, and Foreign Relations Law Program, who addressed the content and flexibility of the National Security & Cybersecurity Law MSL, as well as a recent alumnus, Roberto Macoto, MSL ‘21. The representative sample of courses for the degree includes Cybersecurity Law & Policy, Technology Foundations for Cybersecurity, AI, Intelligence Law, Counterintelligence Law & Policy, Disinformation & National Security, Information Privacy, Foreign Access to US Technology.

The webinar also featured Assistant Dean Jessica Tillipman, director of the Government Procurement Law Program, who addressed the two online degrees offered through her program, the MSL in Government Procurement Law and the MSL in Government Procurement & Cybersecurity Law MSL. Dean Tillipman included in the webinar a currently enrolled student in the Government Procurement & Cybersecurity Law MSL, Elizabeth Chirico, to discuss her experience to date.

Students can complete the MSL programs in Government Procurement online or on campus (or a mix of the two) and on a full-time (3 semester) or part-time (6 semester) basis. Students can be admitted in Fall or Spring, with courses beginning the last week of August and the first full week of January. Fall and Spring semesters are 13 weeks and the Summer semester is 7 weeks, starting after Commencement weekend in May.  Please click on the Guide below to learn more about the government procurement law curriculum.
