Ian is an associate at Cassidy Levy Kent LLP working in trade and customs law. From August 2022 to June 2025, Ian served as an Attorney-Advisor for the Office of Trade, Regulations and Rulings, at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. There, he drafted binding and precedential rulings on trade topics such as antidumping and countervailing duties, foreign trade zones, drawback, and quota issues. He also mentored attorneys as the branch’s designated rulings reviewer and led internal trainings on complex trade topics. This interest in trade began before law school, when Ian worked in trade compliance at BMW’s plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Ian received his JD from the George Washington University Law School in 2022. At GW, Ian served as a Writing Fellow, Deans Fellow, and Articles Editor for the Business and Finance Law Review. Ian has continued his relationship with GW after graduation by serving as a journal adjunct for the Business and Finance Law Review, a lecturer for the Pre-1L orientation course, and now as a Professorial Lecturer in Law for Fundamentals of Lawyering.
