Jeffery Tribble, Jr., JD ’11, was recently named as Levine Music's President and CEO. Founded in 1976, Levine Music offers music instruction and programs to students of all ages, at five campuses across the Washington metropolitan area.

“Living in DC for now 17 years, I have always looked up to Levine Music and the indelible mark they have made across this region’s music education landscape,” Mr. Tribble said in a press release. “I am excited to work alongside Levine Music’s extremely talented team to continue the legacy of excellence that has changed thousands of lives in its 45-year history.”

Mr. Tribble, named in 2016 as one of Magic Johnson’s 32 Under 32 and as a Black Enterprise Magazine BE Modern Man, is a musician with more than a dozen years of experience in music education in the DC area.

While studying at GW Law, where Mr. Tribble says, he “valued the educational experience,” he founded The MusicianShip, a DC-area nonprofit devoted to changing lives through music by providing lessons, experiences, and opportunities for underserved communities in four countries.

Mr. Tribble put his GW Law skills into practice as Executive Director of The MusicianShip, as he launched and grew the organization through his focus on authentic community engagement and partnership building. Under his leadership, The MusicianShip expanded from serving two students in 2009 to nearly 2,000 students by 2020. Additionally, Mr. Tribble succeeded in growing the organization’s annual budget from $10K in the first year to a projected $1.2M in Year 10 by diversifying the organization’s revenue streams.

At GW Law, Mr. Tribble also gained a new mentor. "I got to know Jeff as a student in my Copyright Law class. He later asked me to join the Board of Directors of The MusicianShip, the organization he founded," said Robert Brauneis, Michael J. McKeon Professor of Intellectual Property Law and Co-Director of the Intellectual Property Program at GW Law. Professor Brauneis has served on the MusicianShip board for seven years, and for the past five years has served as its chair.

"Jeff has taught me a lot about the skills, passion and dedication necessary to thrive as a social entrepreneur," said Professor Brauneis. "Remarkably, he has grown an organization that will flourish even after his departure, and I have no doubt that Levine Music will now benefit from his talents and focus."

In addition to earning his Juris Doctor degree from GW Law, where he served as a research assistant to the Dean for Trial Advocacy, Mr. Tribble earned his undergraduate degree in legal communications from Howard University. Also at Howard, Mr. Tribble was a Percussion Section Leader for the Howard University Showtime Marching Band.

A native of Chicago, Mr. Tribble resides in DC with his wife, BreAnna Davis Tribble, and their son.

“[Mr. Tribble’s] deep passion for music, his creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit, and his commitment to the Washington area community make him the right person to guide our dedicated faculty, board, and staff as they design an exciting next chapter for Levine Music,” said Peter Jablow, Levine’s CEO for 18 years, who retired in June 2021.
