Kyle Singhal is a partner of the Washington DC law firm Hopwood & Singhal, PLLC. Mr. Singhal's legal practice consists primarily of federal appellate litigation (civil and criminal), plaintiff's-side civil rights litigation, and post-conviction criminal proceedings such as habeas corpus and compassionate release motions.

Mr. Singhal's criminal appellate matters primarily involve challenges to federal wire-fraud convictions, typically in cases involving $10 million to $200 million of loss. His civil appellate matters include challenges to administrative-agency actions and multi-million-dollar receivership disputes. And his trial matters include employment-discrimination suits and lawsuits under § 1983, Bivens, and the Federal Tort Claims Act.

Mr. Singhal earned his law degree, with highest honors, from the George Washington University Law School. While in law school, he competed in and won the National Moot Court Competition, placing first among competitors from 175 law schools. Mr. Singhal also competed in and won the Van Vleck Constitutional Law Moot Court, arguing in front of Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. And he won best oralist in the Hunton Andrews Kurth Moot Court National Championship. After law school, Mr. Singhal worked for the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project in Washington, DC, advocating on behalf of wrongly convicted state and federal prisoners. He then served as a law clerk, first for Judge Danny J. Boggs on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and then for Judge John K. Bush on the same court. Judge Bush and Mr. Singhal have taught law school courses together since 2019.

Apart from his legal practice, Mr. Singhal provides private tutoring for the bar exam, primarily to aspiring lawyers who have previously failed and are attempting the exam a second or third time. He also oversees a team of tutors who provide LSAT, SAT, and ACT tutoring.
