Ms. Morton is a partner at Perkins Coie LLP. She advises clients on stages of ocean energy projects, including environmental review and permitting required for generation, transmission, and related infrastructure. Before joining Perkins Coie, Ms. Morton was Senior Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs for offshore wind at the American Clean Power Association. Her portfolio covered a wide range of issues surrounding the offshore wind leasing and permitting process and multiple-use compatibility. Prior to Ms. Morton's role at ACP, she served for seven years in leadership roles at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Administrator, U.S. Department of Energy, and the Council for Environmental Quality. Early in Ms. Morton's career, she worked in private practice, representing energy companies in complex multidistrict litigation and in federal court, and as senior litigation and appellate counsel in the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Ms. Morton also clerked for the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
