Lisa M. Zarlenga

Lisa Zarlenga is a partner at Steptoe & Johnson, where she represents public and private companies on federal income taxation issues, with a focus on corporate transactional and planning matters. Ms. Zarlenga served as the Tax Legislative Counsel at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 2011 to 2015, where she advised Treasury's Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy on a broad range of domestic tax policy issues, including corporate, partnership, financial products, energy, tax accounting, and estate and gift tax issues. Ms. Zarlenga started her career as a judicial clerk for Hon. Robert P. Ruwe of the U.S. Tax Court. She has been involved in the DC Bar and American Bar Association Taxation Sections and is a frequent speaker and author on various tax topics.
