Mr. Torres earned his BA at New York University (magna cum laude) and earned his JD at the George Washington University Law School. In his 3L year, he practiced under the Maryland Rules as a Student Attorney in the law school's Criminal Appeals & Post-Conviction Services Clinic. For Mr. Torres' work in the Clinic, he received the Richard C. Lewis, Jr. Memorial Award for Extraordinary Dedication to Clinical Work and Compassion and Humanity Towards Clients and Colleagues. After graduation, he served as a Judicial Law Clerk at the Superior Court for the District of Columbia. Since 2011, Mr. Torres has served in the Maryland Office of the Public Defender's Appellate Division. In that capacity, he has argued numerous criminal (and select civil) appeals in Maryland’s appellate courts and conducted training sessions for the agency. Since 2014, Mr. Torres has also taught Introduction to Advocacy to 1L students at the University of Baltimore School of Law.
