Anita M. Singh is Professor and Associate Director of Fundamentals of Lawyering (FL) at the law school. Professor Singh is a seasoned executive with more than a decade of experience in the federal government, including at the National Security Council and in several senior leadership roles at the US Department of Justice, where she specialized in national security and cybersecurity issues and oversaw the Department's management and administrative functions. Professor Singh is also a Certified Executive Coach specializing in leadership development.
At GW Law, in addition to teaching FL, Professor Singh developed and launched the law school’s first course specifically focused on teaching leadership skills, an experiential class entitled “Lessons in Leadership: How to Influence Others, Drive Change, and Leave Your Mark.” She also co-launched with Professor Paul Schiff Berman the law school’s summer prep course “An Introduction to the 1L
Classroom.” She is an advisor in GW's Inns of Court Program and an affiliated faculty member for the GW Law School Program in National Security, Cybersecurity, and Foreign Relations Law.
Prior to joining the faculty of GW Law, Professor Singh was a member of the career Senior Executive Service at DOJ. She began her public service as an attorney in the Attorney General's Honors Program, working in DOJ’s Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section.
Prior to her legal career, Professor Singh was a management consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. She graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University, with a BA in English and a B.S. in Sociology, and she received her JD and AM (Criminology) from the University of Pennsylvania. In her spare time, Professor Singh focuses on health and wellness as a certified personal trainer, health coach, and fitness instructor.
