Advising Emerging Companies: How Lawyers and Entrepreneurs Make Innovation Happen

Wed, 10 October, 2018 6:00pm

How do lawyers support the creation and growth of new, innovative, and high-growth companies? How can lawyers incorporate innovative and entrepreneurial thinking into their own practices? Please join three experienced legal advisors to high-growth companies for a discussion of some of the roles that lawyers can play in innovation-driven entrepreneurship ecosystems. The discussion will be introduced and co-moderated by Lex McCusker, Director of Student Entrepreneurship Programs in GW University’s central Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Lex will also give a brief summary of the office's work and resources as a focal point for innovation and entrepreneurship at GW, including conducting workshops on the Lean Startup approach for building successful startups, serving as one of the principal institutions in the DC Regional Node of the nationwide I-Corps program, and coordinating GW's annual New Venture Competition.
