Amanda Pescovitz, Class of ’20, has been selected as an American Constitution Society (ACS) 2020 Next Generation Leader (NGL).

Each year, ACS selects a small group of 20 to 25 recent and forthcoming law school graduates from its nearly 200 nationwide chapters to participate in the NGL program. The application process is competitive, and the benefits include unique access to ACS career development resources and networking opportunities.

Ms. Pescovitz, who currently serves as President of the ACS chapter at GW Law, was chosen for her demonstrated commitment to ACS engagement and strong leadership qualities, as well as her ability to remain a vital member of the ACS community in the future.

“I am incredibly honored by my selection as an ACS Next Generation Leader,” said Ms. Pescovitz. “My participation in ACS has been a highlight of my law school experience, and I hope to remain active in the organization for many years to come.”

In addition to her ACS responsibilities, Ms. Pescovitz is the Executive Production Editor for The George Washington International Law Review and a Dean’s Fellow in the Fundamentals of Lawyering Program. A Thurgood Marshall Scholar at GW Law, she also was a Sweet Sixteen Finalist in the Van Vleck Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition in 2018 and 2019.

Ms. Pescovitz served as an intern in the Housing Law Unit at the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia and the Fair Elections Center. In addition, she was a legal extern for advocacy and litigation at the League of Women Voters of the United States and a summer associate in the Public Interest Division of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia.

She received a BA magna cum laude in Linguistics from New York University and hopes to work in state or local government after graduating from law school.
