VII International Congress of Competition Law
The Colombian Competition Association, in association with the CLC, organized the International Congress of Competition Law, which took place in Medellin, Colombia, on May 4 and 5, 2023. The event gathered guests from many jurisdictions, such as the directors of the Spanish and Brazilian Competition Agencies. In particular, Our Director, William E. Kovacic, spoke about the latest developments in the US Antitrust, while our Fellow Alejandro Ibarra discussed whether the ex-ante regulation for digital markets is convenient in developing countries.
Competition Law and Policy In Developing Countries
On the last day of the ABA Antitrust Spring Meeting, the CLC hosted a discussion regarding the application and effectiveness of Competition Law and Policy in Developing Countries; we had the privilege to count with a great panel and distinguished guest worldwide.
Antitrust Writing Awards
On March 28, 2023, the CLC and Concurrence hosted the Antitrust Writing Awards; the aim of these awards is to promote competition scholarship and contribute to competition advocacy. The 2023 Antitrust Writing Awards contribute to this achievement by selecting the best antitrust writings published in the past year. The Awards consist of:
- “Best Articles”: best academic, and business articles written by one or several authors
- “Best Soft Law”: best non-enforcement tools written by competition agencies
- “Best Student Papers”: best papers written by current Law & Economics students
