On Monday, March 17, 2025, the George Washington University Law School and its International and Comparative Law program hosted a hearing of the US Court of International Trade. The hearing was led by Judge Jennifer Choe-Groves.
Our community had the opportunity to observe oral arguments for a case regarding oil country tubular goods (“OCTG”) from Argentina, Mexico, Russia, and South Korea. The case involves US sanctions against Russia due to the war on Ukraine and the economic impacts of the sanctions on US companies.
The hearing was followed by a career event in which Judge Choe-Groves offered valuable advice to our students on different job opportunities and pathways to practice in international trade.
The International and Comparative Program is incredibly grateful to Judge Jennifer Choe-Groves, her team, and the parties to this legal matter, for bringing this important opportunity to our law school. The ICL program continues to promote student engagement with different international law areas, the important work of both domestic and international courts, and exposure to practice and career opportunities.
