GW Law Student Honored with the Jean-Marie Sylla, Jr. Legacy Award

Emmanuella Saforo, Class of 2023, was awarded the National Bar Association Commercial Law Section's (NBA-CLS) Jean-Marie Sylla, Jr. Legacy Award in Orlando, Florida.

"I am incredibly grateful to the National Bar Association Commercial Law Section and Jean-Marie Sylla, Jr.'s family for honoring me with this award. I had a great networking and learning experience at the 36th Annual Corporate Counsel Conference and was thrilled to be in the presence of outstanding, talented, close-knit attorneys. A special thank you to Casiya Thaniel and all members of the Executive Committee for continuing Mr. Sylla's legacy of excellent service and his commitment to the next generation of lawyers," said Emmanuella. 

The Jean-Marie Sylla, Jr. Legacy Award is a fellowship awarding a $1,500 financial award for registration and travel expenses to attend the NBA-CLS's Corporate Counsel Conference. The award was presented by Jean-Marie Sylla, Jr.'s family and an NBA-CLS executive committee member. Mr. Sylla was a dedicated member of the National Bar Association (NBA), where he served as General Counsel from 2015-2016; a member of the NBA Board of Directors; an Executive Committee Member of its Commercial Law Section; and former Chair of the Small Business Law Section.
