The International and Comparative Law Program and the American Society of International Law's Latin America Interest Group (LAIG) held the group's inaugural event, which considered international legal implications of the controversial Nicaraguan Canal.

The speakers examined how this $50 billion inter-ocean megaproject could impact indigenous and Afro-Caribbean rights, and how international environmental law should regulate this initiative.
