Michael A. Chajon

Mike Chajon is an Associate Solicitor in the Solicitor’s Office of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He represents the USPTO in trademark matters, including appeals before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and actions in federal district court. Mr. Chajon also advises the agency on a wide range of intellectual property (IP) issues including domain names, copyright, and IP cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. Before joining the USPTO, he was an litigator in private practice focusing on patent and trademark litigation in federal district court and the USPTO. Mr. Chajon is a GW Law alum who clerked for the Honorable Leonard P. Stark, then of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, and the Honorable Kathleen M. O’Malley, then of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He was in private practice for over a decade, having spent time at Perkins Coie, Kelly IP, Covington & Burling, and Fish & Richardson. Mr. Chajon has a degree in chemical engineering and worked for four years as an engineer in an oil refinery before going to law school.
