Monopolizing Whiteness: An Interview with Dr. Erika K. Wilson

Wed, 21 April, 2021 12:00pm

Join Dr. Dwayne Kwaysee Wright for an interview with Dr. Erika K. Wilson, Associate Professor and the Thomas Willis Lambeth Distinguished Chair in Public Policy at the University of North Carolina's School of Law, to discuss her upcoming paper, "Monopolizing Whiteness." In this paper, Professor Wilson examines K-12 segregation from the lens of "opportunity hoarding" and the monopolization of "high quality" schools by white students and proposes using antitrust law to bring about educational equity.

Dr. Wilson's research and teaching interests include clinical legal education, education law and policy, specifically obtaining educational equality for disadvantaged students, and the intersection between race and the law. She teaches Critical Race Theory and Education Law, and serves as the director for the UNC Clinical Programs.
