GW's Jacob Burns Community Legal Clinics celebrated their 50th anniversary last year and to start this academic year off strong they announced a new clinic, Intellectual Property & Technology. The new law clinic will launch in Spring 2023 and will be led by Visiting Associate Clinical Professor Lolita Darden.
Professor Darden is a registered patent attorney whose scholarship focuses on the protection and preservation of intellectual property rights for creators and inventors, particularly those who are under-resourced. More specifically, she focuses on the constitutional impact of the recent changes in US intellectual property laws and explores concepts regarding access and equity in the protection and maintenance of IP rights.
