Join representatives of the Animal Welfare Institute’s Farm Animal Program and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ Government Relations Department for a talk about the state of legal protections for farm animals in the United States. This panel will provide a brief overview of federal and state laws affecting farm animals and discuss opportunities and challenges for advocates in improving animal lives through legislation, regulation, and litigation. The panel will include a legislative case study, recent regulatory developments, areas for improvement, and conclude with a question and answer session.
