Stuart Ginsberg is Executive Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel of Stanley-Martin Communities, LLC, a large Mid-Atlantic regional homebuilding company based in Reston, Virginia. Prior to going in-house with Stanley-Martin in 2003, Professor Ginsberg was in private practice for 18 years, primarily with the Washington, D.C. law firm of Tucker Flyer, P.C., which later merged into Venable, LLP. His law practice focused on all aspects of commercial real estate, as well as on other corporate and business transactions. Professor Ginsberg also worked for several years as a member of the government relations staff of the American Dental Association.

Professor Ginsberg is a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Professional Oversight Committee of the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Virginia, and is a past president and director of Congregation Etz Hayim. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the Virginia State Bar and the American Bar Association, as well as the American Historical Association. 

Professor Ginsberg received a BA with honors from Williams College, a DMD from the University of Pennsylvania, and a JD from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he was an Associate Editor of The Tax Lawyer Journal.

 


He has been teaching courses in real estate law and finance at the law school since 2004.

He currently is writing a book on the history of the Fish family from New York, which sent four consecutive generations of fathers and sons, all named Hamilton Fish, to the United States Congress.
